About Joseph

Joe Okon represents corporate clients in matters involving first- and third-party insurance claims, premises liability, and insurance bad faith. Joe is experienced in litigating cases from pleadings through summary judgment and trial.

  • Obtained a jury verdict in favor of a client-state agency at trial regarding a Title VII employment discrimination claim.
  • Achieved defense verdicts for clients in U.S. District Court concerning claims pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
  • Obtained summary judgment resulting in dismissal of all claims in a retaliation and religious freedom infringement case, later affirmed on appeal.
  • Oversaw and assisted with large-scale ESI review and production, including formation of ESI protocol and managing review of documents.

Before moving to Colorado, Joe gained significant trial experience working at the Illinois Attorney General’s Office on civil rights litigation brought against employees and entities of the State of Illinois. Joe has tried federal civil rights cases to verdict in both the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois.

Joe earned two bachelor degrees from Southern Illinois University and was a member of the collegiate football program. Thereafter, Joe earned his law degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law.
